About Alicante Casa Azul
Alicante Casa Azul is a lovely holiday home with all amenities to offer you a fantastic holiday on the Costa Blanca.
General
In 2024, we were finally able to realize a long-cherished dream and bought our vacation home. After a long search, we came across this house, and when we stood in front of it, we immediately had the feeling: this is it! The tranquility the neighborhood exuded, the space around the house
The house is strikingly blue—hence the name Casa Azul—and is situated against a nature reserve directly behind the house. It is a bungalow with a private parking space, a terrace at the rear of the house, and a roof terrace that is almost as large as the house itself.
The house is located in the gated community of Montefaro, which is accessible only to residents. During the summer months, there is 24/7 security in the community. The community features a magnificent communal swimming pool (open from end of May to end of September) and also offers two padel courts, a tennis court, and a football pitch.
Our home
Casa Azul is a bungalow built in 2005. It has a living area of 82 m² and the plot is 186 m². The house is single-story with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious living room, kitchen, utility room, a spacious ground-floor terrace, and a roof terrace spanning the entire width of the house.
The house is suitable for up to 6 guests and is equipped with all modern conveniences.

Bed linen and plenty of towels (70×140 cm and 50×100 cm) are available in the house. There is also a large fitted sheet for the beach or by the pool. You do need to bring your own beach towels.
The surroundings
Scattered throughout Gran Alacant, there are approximately 80 bars and restaurants to be found, each with its own specialties ranging from steakhouse, Indian, Lebanese, Italian, and, of course, Spanish cuisine.
Casa Azul is located in the Montefaro community in the Gran Alacant district of Santa Pola, about 20 kilometers south of Alicante. The district is just a 12-minute drive from Alicante-Elche International Airport.
Shopping
You mainly do your shopping at the Centro Commercial, the largest shopping center in Gran Alacant. Here you will find supermarkets (Lidl, Consum, Mercadona), a pet shop, a pharmacy, furniture stores, a gym, a butcher shop, shoe and clothing stores, cafes, and restaurants. Basically everything you might need during your holiday. Additionally, there is a large weekly market on Thursdays where you can go for fruit, vegetables, gifts, etc.
Facilities
In addition, Gran Alacant has its own post office, town hall, church, schools, local police station, and public clinics where doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, etc. are present.
Public transport
Public transport by bus is available to and from Gran Alacant to Santa Pola, Alicante, Arenales del Sol, and El Altet, with multiple stops in Gran Alacant.
In addition to the regular bus service, Gran Alacant has its own tourist train that runs around Gran Alacant. It stops at 12 different points, including the beautiful Carabassi beach and the Gran Alacant commercial center.
This is also good news: if you do not want to rent a car while on vacation in Gran Alacant, you can reach everything by tourist train, including the beach and the supermarkets.
Beaches In Gran Alacant
Gran Alacant offers two beautiful beaches – Carabassi Playa and Playas de Elche – both of which feature Blue Flag Awards. Services on these beaches include parking, playgrounds, walkways, sunbeds, parasols, a beach bar, toilets, and water sports. Perfect for you to spend your day in the sun.
Sights
Lighthouse
Built in 1858 on the old Atalayola watchtower, which was originally built in 1552, and with a range of 16 nautical miles, the views towards Alicante and the island of Tabarca are simply breathtaking. On clear days and with binoculars, you can also see Benidorm. From here, you will also be able to see the paragliders taking off from the cliffs in nearby Gran Alacant and watch them glide through the air.
Gran Alacant – Skywalk
In 2015, the Santa Pola Council invested 300,000 euros in building a 100-meter metal skywalk (or viewpoint) near the Santa Pola Lighthouse, further improving the view and your ability to take photos from a higher angle. There are no cafes or shops in the Lighthouse, so make sure to bring water with you!
